An open-source podcast player, built in the open.

Podcase plays podcasts and searches a public podcast index. It's developed entirely in public — every line of the app lives in a repository you can read, run, and change.

What Podcase is

A player, first.

The core of Podcase is playing podcasts: find a show, press play, listen.

Powered by an open index.

Show search runs against the Podcast Index — a public, open directory of podcast feeds, not one company's private catalog.

One codebase, everywhere.

Podcase is written in Flutter — a single codebase that builds for Android, iOS, macOS, and the web. Today the web build is what you can use; native apps are the plan, not the product. Yet.

Built in the open

Podcase is open source under the Apache License 2.0. The app, the player core, and the shared packages are all public at github.com/lohnn/oss_player, together with the issue tracker. Read it, run it, fork it. Contributions are welcome.
